BetterHome Group UK has appointed Martin Tullett as chief financial officer as the mortgage distribution group strengthens its leadership team and prepares for its next phase of growth.
Tullett joins after seven and a half years at Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB), where he most recently served as group finance director. He brings nearly 20 years of finance experience, including expertise in mergers and acquisitions, business transformation and the UK mortgage intermediary market.
A qualified chartered accountant, Tullett began his career at EY before spending six years at Experian in commercially focused finance roles. At MAB, he held several senior finance positions, supporting the group's growth and developing its financial capabilities.
In his new role, Tullett will lead BetterHome Group UK's finance function, focusing on financial and commercial performance and supporting its long-term strategic ambitions.
Group CEO Rudi Botha said: “Martin brings an excellent combination of financial expertise, commercial judgement and direct experience of the UK mortgage intermediary market. His understanding of what it takes to support and scale a growing business, together with his experience of operating within listed organisations, will be extremely valuable as we continue to develop BetterHome Group UK.”
Tullett added: "Having spent the past seven and a half years working in the mortgage intermediary sector, I understand both the opportunities within the market and the importance of building a strong, commercially focused business that can support its partners over the long term."
South Africa's BetterHome Group entered the UK mortgage market in 2024 through its investment in Josewin Limited, now BetterHome Group UK. Its UK portfolio includes HLPartnership and MSS, which owns Stonebridge Mortgage & Protection Network. The appointment forms part of the group's wider investment in its UK leadership and infrastructure as it develops its presence in the mortgage and home-buying market.
