Cohort subsidiary wins €140.7m contract with Saab

Cohort has announced that its German subsidiary, ELAC, has been awarded a contract with Saab with a value of €140.7m.

The contract will see the firm’s sensors and effectors division deliver integrated sonar systems for the Polish Orka Submarine Programme.

Work will commence immediately, and deliveries will continue out to the mid-2030s.

Chief executive at Cohort, Andy Thomis, stated: "This important order confirms ELAC SONAR's position as a world-leading provider of advanced digital sonar systems for submarines.

"We are pleased to have established this important collaboration with Saab whose A26 submarine has been selected by the Polish Navy. We will work together closely to ensure that these advanced vessels are provided with cutting-edge active and passive sonar systems, creating a world-class underwater capability that will make a major contribution to security in the Baltic Sea region.

"ELAC celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026, and this order demonstrates its continued status as a leading provider of naval hydroacoustic systems for use in the Baltic Sea and worldwide."
