Emma Ciechan has been appointed as the new CFO at Concurrent Technologies, effective from 5 October.
She brings over 20 years of leadership experience to the role at the computer products, systems and mission-critical solutions designer and manufacturer, joining from DS Smith, where she most recently served as finance director of its paper, recycling & capex and paper sourcing & procurement divisions.
In her 10 years at DS Smith, Ciechan held a number of senior finance roles, leading teams up to 90 people and supporting external reporting and investor communications.
Prior to this, she was group financial controller at Guardian Media Group and held leadership roles at News UK and Kantar.
Ciechan replaces Kim Garrod, who informed the board on 13 April of her intention to step down from the position and retire. She will continue to be employed by the company until 30 November to facilitate a smooth transition.
Chairman at Concurrent Technologies, Mark Cubitt, stated: "We are delighted to welcome Emma to Concurrent. She brings an excellent combination of UK plc, international and manufacturing experience, together with a proven track record of partnering operational leaders to drive performance, manage investment and support growth. As we continue to execute our strategy, Emma's breadth of financial and operational expertise will be invaluable in supporting the next phase of Concurrent's growth.
"I'd also like to thank Kim for her significant contribution to Concurrent. Kim has played a vital role in supporting Miles and the team to transform Concurrent into the high growth leading edge technology business it is today."
Ciechan concluded: "I am delighted to be joining Concurrent at a time when the Group has built strong momentum and established a clear platform for further progress.
"Having worked across complex manufacturing operations and finance functions, I look forward to bringing my experience to Concurrent as it continues to scale, and to working with Miles, the Board and the wider team to help deliver the Group's next phase of growth."
