Filtronic shares soar on record SpaceX order

Filtronic has secured its largest-ever order from SpaceX, a $68.1m (£51.3m) follow-on contract to supply Cerus E-band gallium nitride (GaN) solid-state power amplifier units.

The AIM-listed radio frequency technology specialist, headquartered in Sedgefield, County Durham, said the order further strengthens its strategic partnership with SpaceX and is expected to be materially fulfilled during its 2028 financial year, providing greater visibility over future revenues.

The contract follows a $62.5m SpaceX order announced in August 2025 and reflects continued adoption of Filtronic’s proprietary gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductor technology, which offers higher output power, improved efficiency and enhanced thermal performance for applications including low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications.

Nat Edington, CEO of Filtronic, said: “This follow-on order from SpaceX is another significant milestone for Filtronic, providing extended order visibility and coverage over the next couple of years.

"This order also provides significant revenue visibility into FY2028 and beyond, representing another important step for the business but also the continued development of our partnership with SpaceX.”

Filtronic shares rose as much as 14% in early trading following the announcement.
