FTSE 250 drugmaker Hikma Pharmaceuticals has appointed Rebecca Hall as CFO and executive director.

The ViiV Healthcare finance chief is set to join Hikma in the first quarter of 2027. Hall is currently senior vice president and CFO at ViiV, where she oversees finance, supply chain and business development.

She joined ViiV in 2018 after 14 years at GSK, giving her more than 20 years of pharmaceutical experience across the UK, US and Asia.

Hall will replace Khalid Nabilsi on Hikma’s board when she joins. Nabilsi, who became CFO in December as part of a management reshuffle, will remain with the group as deputy CEO for North America and Europe. Areb Kurdi will continue as acting CFO until Hall takes up the role.

The appointment follows a leadership shake-up that began last December after Hikma warned on profits. Said Darwazah, who previously served as CEO and who is the son of Samih Darwazah, Hikma's founder, returned to the role on an interim basis and has since stepped down as executive chair to focus on running the group.

Hall added: “For more than 45 years, Hikma has built a strong track record of making high-quality medicines accessible to millions of people around the world. I am delighted to be joining the team and look forward to helping deliver Hikma’s growth ambitions and creating lasting value for patients, shareholders and colleagues.”

Founded in Jordan in 1978, Hikma has grown into one of the largest pharmaceutical companies focused on the Middle East and North Africa region. The London-based firm reported a 4% rise in first-half 2026 revenue to $1.73bn in August, while core operating profit increased 9% to $405m.
