Hollywood Bowl shares jump after it hits record revenues

Shares in Hollywood Bowl increased by almost 7% earlier today after the firm announced
it is set to reach record revenues.

In its latest trading update, the entertainment firm, which operates venues across the UK and Canada, reached revenues of £250.8m in the year to 30 September, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%.

Meanwhile, its total group like-for-like (LFL) revenue growth rose by 0.6%, while UK LFL growth increased by 1.1%.

In this period, Hollywood Bowl opened five new centres across the UK and two in Canada in the year to 30 September, increasing its portfolio size to 77 UK sites and 15 locations in Canada.

The entertainment firm also completed a £15m share buyback scheme.

Chief executive officer at Hollywood Bowl, Stephen Burns, said: "We are very pleased with our full-year performance, both financially and operationally. We have again demonstrated the success of our proven, customer-led strategy and differentiated business model by delivering record revenues and further profitable growth.

"Our motivated and engaged teams consistently delivered high quality customer experiences which resulted in increased dwell time and record levels of positive customer feedback."

In its outlook, Hollywood Bowl expects to report EBITDA in the 2025 financial year in line with market expectations, which ranges from between £248m and £250.6m, adding that its remains confident for the current financial year and beyond.

Burns added: "We have continued to drive strong returns through ongoing investment in our centres and the expansion of our estate in prime locations in the UK and Canada and we have an exciting pipeline of new centres that continues to grow.

"The strong cash generative nature of our business means we are well-placed to continue investing in the size and quality of our estate and to continue to enhance the customer experience through our service standards and the use of digital technology to drive returns. We remain confident in the long-term growth opportunities in the UK and Canada."

Hollywood Bowl will announce its full results for the year to 30 September on 16 December.
